Phil Spencer teased us all yesterday December 4th by tweeting about how he’s been using Project Scarlett, the code name for Microsoft’s next-gen Xbox console, as his primary home console.
He mentions how he is having a blast with it, and also said: “Great work by the team, 2020 is going to be an incredible year.” No new information was revealed about Project Scarlett.
With the anticipated release date being Holiday 2020, we can assume that Spencer is most likely playing with a developer kit version, and not the final form of the console. Either way, we are so jealous.
Project Scarlett was originally announced by Microsoft earlier in 2019. What has been confirmed by Microsoft is that Project Scarlett will have a processor that is four times more powerful than the Xbox One X, higher bandwidth GDDR6 memory, framerates up to 120 per second, 8k capability, and more.
