Smite’s latest season looks to change the way we play god (Picture: Hi-Rez Studios)
Yesterday Hi-Rez released their vision and patch notes fo Smite season 7. This comes in with plenty of changes to game modes, gods and abilities to spice up your Smite games. Including a few new items that are really going to change the way some roles are played in Smite.
The first thing to mention is the changes to the Conquest map. Junglers are getting a new camp called the Shrine. This will give them and their team gold from it when they’ve cleared enough camps on their side of the map. This has been brought in to stop the invade meta that has been plaguing Conquest. Along with this there are significant changes to the buff camps, some are getting nerfed and others buffed but hunters be happy, attack speed buff returns to replace the protections buff. The map layout is also changing with jungle camps on duo’s side and the harpies at mid have been split into two camps, well on one side.
Conquest isn’t the only game mode getting some attention. Joust is getting a new design, with new camps to kill and changes to XP and gold gained to prevent snowballing in the game mode. Joust has been fleshed out and has added a lot more to its game now with plenty of new ways to play the game mode.
Along with this is plenty of new items. Some will help physical healers, some will help magical hunters but all will add new ways to play and add different elements to the game we all know and love. That doesn’t mean all things will stay the same though as plenty of changes have been made to gods and current items as well. This is to balance and change the meta from what we had last season.
You can read the full patch notes right here. Hi-Rez are also releasing a flurry of cool skins to go with their new battle pass and upcoming events so be sure to check them out. Season 7 is going live on the 28th January 2020.
