Two new development teams, separate from pre-existing Kingdom Hearts games, have been established according to the “13 Questions of Darkness” Q&A via the Japanese Kingdom Hearts Twitter account.
This means that a new Kingdom Hearts title is in development. Square Enix confirmed this by saying “Furthermore, in addition to the Kingdom Hearts III and Kingdom Hearts Union χ teams, two new teams are currently at work, and one of their titles is coming surprisingly soon,”
Also, this could mean more than one game is in the works. As Square Enix said, “one of their titles…” so there could be multiple games in development.
Along with that, Kingdom Hearts director Tetsuya Nomura spoke about the Re Mind expansion coming to Kingdom Hearts III. Set to be available January 23, Re Mind will be the last update coming to KHIII and no Final Mix release is planned, according to Nomura.
As for downloadable content, Re Mind is the first and last. We’re already working on the next title.
